NBC Universal Global Networks has hired Olivier Gerolami and Steve Patscheck as managing directors of Europe and Latin America, respectively.
Both will report to Patrick Vien, prexy of NBC Universal Global Networks.
Gerolami will oversee NBC U’s family of channels in France (13th Street and Sci Fi), Germany (Das Vierte, 13th Street, Sci Fi and Giga), Italy (Studio Universal), Spain (13th Street) and the U.K. (Sci Fi).
Gerolami was chief operating officer of French digital terrestrial platform Groupement TNT. Previously he was CEO of Italian pay TV service Tele Plus and chief operating officer of Canal Satellite in France.
Since 2003, Patscheck has overseen all programming development and acquisitions throughout Latin America and Brazil as VP of programming for NBC U Global Nets.
He joined from MTV Networks, where he was VP of the international program enterprises group for four years. Before that, he focused on Latin American distribution at Discovery. He will remain based in Los Angeles.
NBC Universal Global Nets operates 11 channels in Europe and Latin America under four channel brands: Sci Fi (science-fiction), 13th Street (action and suspense), Studio Universal (24-hour movies) and Universal Channel (crime and investigation).
