Disney Channel has greenlit an original movie toplining Tia and Tamera Mowry (“Sister, Sister”).
“Twitches,” slated to air this fall, stars the twins as sisters separated at birth who meet for the first time on their 21st birthday only to discover that they have magical powers.
Production has begun in Toronto. Dan Berendsen (“Stuck in the Suburbs”) wrote the telepic to be directed by Stuart Gillard (“Going to the Mat”). Carla Singer exec produces. Broomsticks Prods. is producing for Disney.
Kristen Wilson, Jackie Rosenbaum, Jessica Greco, Pat Kelly, Jennifer Robertson and Patrick Fabian also star.
Disney Channel scored with the original movie “Go Figure,” which ranked No. 1 among tweens 9-14 during its June 10 premiere.
Both Mowrys recently starred in feature “The Hot Chick.” Tamera also appeared in the Lifetime hospital drama “Strong Medicine.”
