Buena Vista Pictures Distribution prexy Chuck Viane is the recipient of the 2005 humanitarian award from the Variety Boys and Girls Club.
During his two-year tenure as prexy of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation, the org has raised a record $15 million and added 600 new members. Last summer, the foundation summer fund-raising campaign included an all-time high 14 exhib chains and allowed the expansion of the charity’s research fellowship program at Mercy Children’s Hospital in Kansas City and Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale.
He also coordinated a Variety Club program to purchase two neonatal ventilators at L.A.’s St. Francis Hospital.
Dinner, to be held June 15 in Gotham, will benefit the Variety Boys and Girls Club facility in Queens, which serves 3,000 underprivileged youngsters.
