Dea Lawrence has been upped to managing director, sales and marketing, for Variety‘s online properties.
She will direct and supervise the online subscription marketing and advertising sales for Variety.com, Vlifemag.com, Multichannelnews.com and Broadcastingcable.com.
Lawrence also will set the strategy and oversee implementation of marketing for VarietyCareers, the media and entertainment job site.
In her previous position as director of sales and marketing, she increased subscription revenues by 60% and doubled online ad revenue from 2003 to 2004. During her four-year career with Variety, monthly unique visitors have grown from 200,000 to 1.4 million.
Lawrence reports to Paulo Lemgruber, general manager of Variety‘s online group.
“Dea has done a phenomenal job in growing both our subscription and ad revenues. In her expanded role, we expect her to help us continue our winning streak,” Lemgruber said.
