Ben Stiller is set to host Nickelodeon’s 18th annual “Kids’ Choice Awards.”
He takes over for Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz, who emceed last year’s kudofest. The 2005 edition, which will air live from UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion on April 2.
“Ben’s hilarious, beloved by kids and a movie veteran of the kind of irreverent mayhem that is the hallmark of our slime-meets-stars awards,” said Nick exec VP Marjorie Cohn.
“Shrek 2” topped the kids’ list this year, nabbing five nominations for favorite movie, voice from an animated film (for Diaz, Myers and Eddie Murphy) and videogame.
Hilary Duff and Usher snagged the second most nominations with three a piece. Destiny’s Child picked up two, as did “Harry Potter,” for book series and movie. Presenters will be announced shortly.
“Kids’ Choice” lets kids choose their favorites from the worlds of film, music, sports and television.
Stiller, who can currently can be seen in “Meet the Fockers,” next lends his voice to DreamWorks animated pic “Madagascar.”
