AMSTERDAM — Sweden’s Non-Stop Television and Canada’s CHUM Television International (CTI) have inked a pact with Orbit Communications to broadcast their Star! entertainment block on Orbit’s The Hollywood Channel.
The deal, effective immediately, will put three hour blocks of CHUM programming daily in some 32 territories in the Middle East and North Africa. Strand will be sent via direct feed from the Star! channel in Stockholm in midday, access and prime time slots.
The CHUM programming block was created in a joint venture between Non-Stop, a subsid of the Millennium Media Group, and CTI, and will be seen in, among other territories, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus and Pakistan.
“With Star!, The Hollywood Channel can maintain its status as the source of absolute entertainment, glitz and glamour,” said Khulud Abu-Homos, Orbit’s senior VP of western programming.
Block features behind the scenes celebrity interviews, news and red carpet coverage of awards, premieres and galas.
