Getting your car parked at Brett Ratner‘s home for last week’s VLife Oscar Contender party took some patience, as revelers jockeyed with frustrated commuters navigating nearby canyon closures due to the area’s massive rainstorms.

Despite the long auto line, Robert Evans, Harvey Weinstein, Peter Guber, Javier Bardem, Alejandro Amenabar, Owen Wilson and Lara Flynn Boyle showed up to celebrate Academy Award hopefuls.

“Monster” helmer Patty Jenkins was relieved that she gets to sit on the sidelines this time around.

“Not that I didn’t appreciate and enjoy last year, but I never thought I would see the Oscar race coming and be so relieved to be not even in the running, because it was a lot of nervousness, tension and excitement,” Jenkins explained.

Bardem vowed to not let the Oscar race get the best of him.

“If I am there, good,” said “The Sea Inside” thesp. “If I am not there fine. It is out of anybody’s control. It doesn’t depend on me.”
