LAS VEGAS — After a week of geeking out with the Consumer Electronics Show, Vegas got a splash of Hollywood heat Saturday as “Elektra” had its world preem at the Palms Casino.
Fans lined a makeshift red carpet snaking through the gaming floor to watch for the stars, with screams erupting when Jennifer Garner, whose presence had been in doubt due to illness, showed up.
The preem came to Vegas in large part due to the Maloof brothers, who own the Palms and have made strong Hollywood connections.
Co-star Goran Visnjic was on hand, along with Marvel’s Avi Arad, New Regency’s Sanford Panitch and Fox’s Hutch Parker, Tom Rothman and Jim Gianopulos.
“Avi had told us Elektra was even more popular than Daredevil, so after Jennifer popped we were very interested in doing this spinoff,” Panitch said.

At the Palms’ Rain nightclub after-bash, Rothman extolled the “emotional character” of Elektra, but resisted Parker’s entreaties to join the throng of dancers downstairs.
