League lets its Light shine

Bigwigs spring forth at spring gala

The women of the Junior League of Los Angeles donned their finest Saturday night for the org’s annual fund-raising spring gala, An Evening in the City of Light.

The silent auction offered up everything from laser facials to Picasso lithographs, and the live auction made some guests paddle-happy with items such as a one-acre plot of land in Fiji, which fetched an impressive $35,000 in a matter of minutes.

Michael Eisner was dressed to the nines for the event, right down to the tiny gold Mickey-head buttons on his tuxedo shirt. He was there to support one of the evening’s lifetime community achievement honorees, Evelyn H. Lauder, founder of the Pink Ribbon Campaign and the Breast Cancer Research Fund. Lauder lit up the room in a rainbow-colored confection of a gown.
