CNN to use 2 CNNfn shows

'Dolans,' 'Open House' back for more

NEW YORK — In a bid to strengthen its financial news offerings, CNN is resurrecting two shows from fallen financial news net CNNfn.

Cabler will bring a relaunched “Dolans Unscripted,” a live personal-finance hourlong hosted by Ken and Daria Dolan, to its 10 a.m. timeslot on Saturdays.

“Dolans” will be preceded by real-estate half-hour “Open House” at 9:30 a.m.

The Dolans are 15-year talk radio veterans who hosted a popular personal-finance call-in show on WOR from New York City. New show will be produced at Time Warner Center in Manhattan.

“Open House” host Geri Willis will guide consumers through a wide range of real-estate and home-improvement issues.

The shows had been two of the most popular offerings on CNNfn, shuttered in December after nearly a decade.

“Weekends are typically a time for focusing on family matters, including money and home issues,” said CNN U.S. prexy Jon Klein.

The shows bow anew Feb. 5, with “Dolans” facing tough competition: Fox News’ highly rated “Bulls & Bears” at 10 a.m. followed by “Cavuto on Business” at 10:30.

Mia Haugen, managing editor of CNN Business News and a former programming exec at CNNfn, will oversee both programs.
