Bravo and World of Wonder are teaming for “It’s My Party,” a six-hour skein about parents who throw lavish parties for their offspring.
World of Wonder produces Bravo’s “Sports Kids Moms & Dads,” which airs Wednesdays at 10. Shingle also was behind last year’s “Showbiz Moms & Dads” and “Showdog Moms & Dads.”
In each episode, cameras follow two families as they ready for similar events such as bar mitzvahs, weddings and sweet-16 parties. Show is slated for a premiere in first quarter 2006. World of Wonder’s Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato exec produce.
Bravo topper Lauren Zalaznick said “It’s My Party” “puts a unique twist on a familiar concept.”
“This series aims to uncover what leads parents to invest so much in the celebrations of their children’s major rites of passages,” she said.
MTV launched a similar series, “My Super Sweet 16,” in January. Skein, which followed several spoiled teens and their doting parents as they planned for king-size birthday bashes, delivered a big 5.9 million viewers in its premiere and MTV’s highest 12-34 rating.
