ABC Family is teaming with High Noon Entertainment (Food Network’s “Unwrapped”) on summer reality series “Kicked Out.”
Cabler has greenlit eight half-hours of the series for an August bow.
In each episode, one family will attempt to kick their unmotivated, jobless twentysomething into gear by booting them out of the house. The offspring will experience some tough love via challenges — devised by their parents — designed to teach them responsibilities such as keeping a job, managing a budget and furnishing their own apartment.
High Noon CEO Jim Berger will exec produce, with James Flint (“My Life Is a Sitcom”) co-exec producing.
High Noon — a production company formed by the merger of Rocket Pictures, High Noon Prods. and Great Divide Pictures — also has received orders for additional cycles of “Generation Renovation,” “If Walls Could Talk” and “Designer Finals” (HGTV); “Unwrapped” and “Challenge” (Food); “Stripped” (Style Network); “Trade School” (DIY); and “What You Get for the Money” (Fine Living).
Production on “Kicked Out” begins next week in L.A.
ABC Family will premiere the first of its summer reality series “Venus & Serena: For Real” July 21 at 10 p.m.
