‘Walk the Line’ to premiere in Toronto

“Walk the Line,” the Johnny Cash biopic starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, is to have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, which runs Sept. 8-17. The movie, which chronicles the early years of the man in black and wife June Carter, is directed by James Mangold (“Kate & Leopold,” “Girl, Interrupted”). Helmer Curtis Hanson’s “In Her Shoes” and Keira Knightley starrer “Pride & Prejudice” will world preem at the Toronto Film Festival as well. The Canuck fest will also host the North American premiere of director John Madden’s “Proof.”
