Rock the Earth Pre-Oscar Bash

Conservative groups recently put up

a billboard at Hollywood and Highland thanking the likes of Michael

Moore for helping to re-elect President Bush. Global Green

USA’s “Rock the Earth” party on Thursday gave enviro-conscious celebs the

chance to retaliate.

As they strolled down the green carpet just steps away from the Kodak

Theatre, Orlando Bloom, his ex-girlfriend Kate Bosworth, Penelope

Cruz, Salma Hayek and Tim Robbins signed a poster showing the Global Green logo

that will be sent to Bush calling for him to support a “smart climate

agenda.”

And some are making sure that they won’t be labeled hypocrites. Bloom,

who will be attending his first Oscar kudofest on Sunday, says he won’t

take a stretch limo to the awards.

“I am going to the Oscars this year in a [Toyota] Prius,” Bloom says.

“Anything I can do to bring awareness to the environment and to the fact

that we need to decrease the greenhouse-gas emissions, I will do. I love

the environment. I grew up in the countryside. I want my kids one day

to enjoy the same environment and their kids to enjoy the same environment.”
