‘Panther’ release moved to Feb. 10

Sony has once again changed the release date on “The Pink Panther”: the remake is now scheduled to bow Feb. 10. Sony has had good luck with the Valentine’s Day date, as both “Hitch” and “50 First Dates” debuted there. Distribution president Rory Bruer said the move will give the studio, which inherited the project from MGM, a chance to develop its marketing effort. The new date puts “Panther” up against Universal toon “Curious George” and New Line romantic comedy “Just Friends.”
