DreamWorks hitches to ‘McCrearys’ pitch

Seth Bass and Jonathan Tolins have sold their pitch “The McCrearys,” based on a segment from NPR’s “This American Life,” to DreamWorks. The movie, based on a true story, is about a brother and sister who, trying to escape the clutches of their overbearing mother, invent a family. The web of lies they spin becomes so complex that this invented family starts to take on a life of its own.
