‘Magnolias’ blooming with two B’way vets

Lovely ladies 'Steel' show, while Lucas calls

Two upcoming Broadway revivals have completed their casting.

Marsha Mason and Frances Sternhagen join the previously announced actresses of “Steel Magnolias.” Delta Burke, Christine Ebersole, Rebecca Gayheart and Lily Rabe round out the ensemble. Mason and Sternhagen take the roles of Ouiser and Clairee, respectively. Mason’s last Broadway appearance was in the 1996 revival of “The Night of the Iguana.”

Robert Harling’s comedy preemed Off Broadway in 1987. The 2005 incarnation will be the play’s first production on Broadway. Jason Moore (“Avenue Q”) directs. “Steel Magnolias” opens April 4 at the Lyceum Theater. Previews begin March 15. Producers are Roy Gabay and Robyn Goodman.

Josh Lucas will be the Gentleman Caller in the David Leveaux-helmed production of “The Glass Menagerie.” Jessica Lange, Dallas Roberts and Sarah Paulson have been previously announced for the Tennessee Williams revival.

Lucas was last seen on the Gotham stage in Terrence McNally’s “Corpus Christi” at MTC in 1997. His 2005 screen credits include “Stealth,” “Glory Road” and “An Unfinished Life.”

“The Glass Menagerie” opens March 15 at the Ethel Barrymore Theater. Previews begin Feb. 24. Bill Kenwright is producer.
