MADRID — U.S. indie distribber TLA Releasing has taken U.S. theatrical and DVD/video rights to Spanish grifters film “Incautos” (Swindled), directed by Miguel Bardem. The sale is just one for Spanish sales consortium Latido on the Victoria Abril-starrer, which has been licensed to France’s M6/SND, Russia’s Soyuz and Colombia’s VOC.
“Produced by Alquimia, the film is well-made, slickly-paced and has a name cast in Abril, who is well-known in France, and Federico Luppi, a star in Latin America,” said Latido general manager Massimo Saidel.
Also sold by Latido, Ventura Pons’ Spanish Berlin Panorama player “Amor Idiota” (Idiot Love) initiated sales with deals to Yugoslavia’s MG Films, which also picked up Argentinean toon blockbuster “Patoruzito,” and the Ukraine’s Vikkan Plus.
Already sold to here Films! for North America, Joaquin Oristrell’s “Inconscientes” (Unconscious) rolled out further internationally closing Russia with Pan Terra and Greece with PCV.
