Beverly Hills-based Indian billionaire Bhupendra Kumar Modi has set up entertainment shingle Spice, which will put $100 million into family-oriented films.The company has opened an office in Los Angeles and is looking for projects. Spice is also moving into the exhibition biz in India, opening a multiplex in New Delhi Nov. 18. Spice wants to acquire 200 screens in India in the next few years. Last year Modi invested in a mega-project called “Buddha,” which will be shot in English and which is being produced under Modi’s Mcorp Global banner. Primarily targeted at young audiences, “Buddha” will be shot in the U.S., Japan, China, Thailand and India.
