Fox publicity vet Florence Grace has been named senior VP of publicity for TriStar Pictures, Sony’s recently revived marketing, production and acquisitions label.
Reporting to TriStar prexy Valerie Van Galder, Grace will oversee campaigns for all TriStar releases as well as the division’s corporate publicity strategy.
“Running With Scissors,” the label’s first production, is currently shooting. “Nip/Tuck” creator-exec producer Ryan Murphy adapted Augusten Burroughs’ bestselling memoir and is directing an ensemble cast led by Annette Bening.
TriStar’s inaugural slate kicks off June 3 with Catherine Hardwicke’s “Lords of Dogtown,” a project originally developed at Columbia.
Grace will join the rest of the TriStar marketing department in handling all product from sister company Screen Gems.
For the past 10 years, Grace worked at 20th Century Fox, most recently as senior VP of corporate publicity. She was instrumental in building Fox’s image through her efforts on behalf of the executives and studio as well as her handling of all awards campaigns, including that for Baz Luhrmann’s “Moulin Rouge.”
TriStar will also release Roman Polanski’s “Oliver Twist,” starring Ben Kingsley and Barney Clark, this fall.
