The seventh annual Film Festival for Children & Young People opens Monday in the Caribbean city of Cartagena.
Weeklong event, now among leading cinema fests for children in Latin America, will offer workshops on film appreciation and animation. Pics from France, Japan, Spain and the U.S., as well as the host country, will participate.
“We are bringing films not otherwise available to kids in Cartagena, some of which have not been seen before in the region,” fest organizer Gerardo Nieto said.
Francesca Romeo, director of the children’s film festival in Quito, Ecuador, heads the three-member adult jury.
