LONDON — Impact Pictures has tapped Damon Chua to be vice president and general manager of its Los Angeles office. Chua will oversee all business development and finance activities, as well as being responsible for pumping up the shingle’s development and production slate.
Chua previously served as head of business development and business affairs for Wong Kar-Wai’s Jettone Films in Hong Kong, where he spearheaded co-production initiatives in film, television and new media in Asia and the U.S..
“We are very excited to be working with someone of Damon’s talents,” said Paul W.S. Anderson, who co-foundered Impact with Jeremy Bolt. “He will help us in our drive to seriously expand the number of movies we put into production each year.”
Impact, a subsidiary of Germany’s leading independent production and distribution company Constantin Film, is in production in China on “DOA: Dead Or Alive,” an adaptation of Tecmo’s best-selling fighting game.
