Barcelona’s ABS is teaming with the U.K.’s Zephyr Films and Ingenious Media on “Jungle Red,” an India-set Bollywood-style musical to be helmed by Antonio Eloy with music by Barry Adamsom (“Lost Highway”), and the urban thriller “Tandoor,” about gangs in a big European city, from a screenplay by Mike Hostench.
Zephyr will provide co-prod coin, Ingenious sales and leaseback money.
Budgeted at $9.6 million, “Jungle Red” will roll in the fall. The $9 million “Tandoor” shoots early next year.
The two projects will be made in English.
“U.K. co-productions act as a gateway into the international market: Many sales agents are in London, and co-production with the U.K. guarantees a genuinely English-language film,” said Antonio Sole, ABS co-chairman with Eva Baro.
