Paul W.S. Anderson is developing to direct “Man With the Football” for Neal Moritz’s Original shingle at Columbia.
Drama concerns terrorists who steal the U.S. president’s “football” — the briefcase containing computer and telecommunications equipment used to initiate a nuclear strike — causing an elite band of government agents to scramble to thwart a terrorist attack.
Written by John Pogue, pic will be produced by Moritz and Original.
Jeremy Bolt, Anderson’s producing partner at Impact Pictures, will exec produce.
Rachel O’Connor is overseeing the project for the studio with Matt Tolmach and Doug Belgrad.
Anderson wrote and directed last year’s Fox hit “Alien vs. Predator.” He also wrote and directed Screen Gems’ “Resident Evil” and wrote and produced “Resident Evil: Apocalypse.”
