Story follows a 20-year-old blind woman who, after receiving a corneal transplant, begins to see mysterious figures among the living who foreshadow death. She therefore sets out to uncover the origins of her corneas.

Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner, who acquired remake rights in 2002, are producing; Roy Lee and Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment exec produce. Current writers are Sebastian Gutierrez and Hillary Seitz; Par exec VP Brian Witten and Ed Goemans are overseeing for the studio.

“This will be a very scary movie,” Wagner said.
