Icon Entertainment Intl. has picked up worldwide rights to “It’s a Boy Girl Thing,” an American high school comedy to be produced by Elton John and David Furnish’s Rocket Pictures.

Pic, currently in pre-production, will be directed by Nick Hurran (“Girls’ Night”) from an original screenplay by Geoff Deane (“The Kinky Boot Factory”).

Poor but popular jock Woody and prim over-privileged academic Nell are next-door neighbors and arch enemies. But when a magical twist of fate causes them to swap bodies, they start to see each other in a different light.

Furnish and Steve Hamilton-Shaw will produce for Rocket, with John and Marty Katz as exec producers.

Icon will release the movie in the U.K. and Australia, and handle sales in the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, Icon has completed a slew of sales on Gaby Dellal’s “On a Clear Day.” Pic has been bought by MK2 in France and Degeto/ARD for free TV in Germany. Other sales include Lusomundo in Portugal, Shapira in Israel and Skifan in Iceland.
