Kidnapping pic licensed to France, Greece, elsewhere

Carlos Reygadas’ “Battle In Heaven” has closed a raft of major territories following its Cannes competition screening Sunday.

Sold by the CoProduction Office managing director Philippe Bober, “Battle,” about a bungled kidnapping, has been licensed to France (Bac Films), Italy (Lucky Red), Korea (World Cinema), Greece (Ama), the Netherlands (Film Museum), Belgium (Lumiere) and Switzerland (Look Now).

As previously reported, Hamish McAlpine’s Tartan Films, which is pic’s exec producer, has taken rights to the U.S. and the U.K.
