Bauer Martinez Distribution — which announced plans recently to release 12 films per year, five of which are targeted to go on 1,500 screens — has inked a multi-pic production deal with Tove and Hayden Christensen’s Forest Park Pictures.
Forest Park previously had a first-look pact at New Line, which it inked back in 2002.
Under the BMD deal, which will initially span 18 months, Forest Park will create up to four pics in the $10 million to $40 million range.
Tove Christensen was a producer on the Hayden Christensen-starrer “Shattered Glass.”
Hayden Christensen is in town here with “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.”
“As a new company, we need new young producers like this,” said BMD chairman-CEO Philippe Martinez.
BMD’s backing comes from Alan Latham, chairman of U.K.-based Templar Film Investment Fund, which will provide funding of $100 million per year for the next three years.
All productions from the partnership will be distributed domestically by BMD and internationally by Bauer Martinez Intl., headed by prexy Karinne Behr.
