Film and Music Entertainment has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to “Waking up Dead,” which will go out domestically through subsid Celebration Pictures.
The feature length docu helmed by Fabio Jafet over a four-year period follows the life of Phil Varone, former drummer for rock bands Saigon Kick and Skid Row.

Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro has been named as the second recipient of the Coolidge Award. It will be presented at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Brookline, Mass., in April. The prize, instituted last year when it was given to director Zhang Yimou, comes with an unrestricted $10,000 stipend.

Digital film finishing company IO Film and post-production house Lightning Media have formed a partnership to provide comprehensive post-production services, including digital intermediate.
Lightning founder and owner Matt Cooper has made an undisclosed cash investment in IO Film and becomes an equity partner in the company.
