Daly chairs children’s org

Exec replaces Murphy at Save the Children

Bob Daly has been named board of trustees chairman at Save the Children.

He replaces Tom Murphy, who completed his seven-year term and has been named chair emeritus.

“The devastating impact of the tsunami in the South Pacific brought home for me in a very profound way how great the needs are of children all over the world,” Daly said in a statement.

Daly’s wife, Carole Bayer Sager, is a longtime supporter of Save the Children and served in 2003 as executive producer of the benefit album “It’s Still OK to Dream,” the proceeds from which supported the org.

Daly currently sits on the boards of the American Film Institute and the Museum of Television and Radio, and he is a member of the dean’s advisory board at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and of the UCLA executive board for the medical sciences.
