Beauchamps aims to release own projects, set up sales arm

Still nameless company is in association with the largest post production house in Latin America, Brazil’s Teleimage. In some cases, Beauchamps’ company will co-produce with Teleimage’s 3-year-old shingle Moonshot, run by Roberto d’ Avila.

His first co-production with Moonshot is “Epoxy,” the directorial debut of Argentinean cinematographer Ricardo Akershtein. Psychological thriller, budgeted at $1.3 million, will shoot in Argentina and star Argentinean thesp Cecilia Roth (“All About my Mother”) and Spain’s Angela Molina (“Carnages”).

Beauchamps plans to release his own projects and will eventually set up a sales and distribution arm.

Beauchamps is one of the founders of Lumiere, which released Miramax and other high profile titles in Brazil for a number of years. Lumiere started co producing pics with Sandra Werneck’s romantic comedy “Little Book of Love” in 1997. Its other credits include Fernando Meirelles’ Oscar-nominated “City of God” and Karim Ainouz’ “Madame Sata.”

“I would like to focus more on film production,” Beauchamps said.
