PRODUCTION INCENTIVES:
Austrian Film Institute (AFI)
Distributes S9.5 million ($11.7 million) annually to Austrian films and co-productions; excludes TV films.
Vienna Film Fund (FFW)
The biggest regional fund in Europe financed by a city, with S8 million ($10 million) available to films that either employ those in the local film industry or are set in Vienna. An Austrian producer must be attached. Productions must spend 100% of funds in Vienna. Commits funds to 25-30 features each year, most of them international co-productions.
Austrian Television Film Fund (FFFF)
Established in 2004, it has an annual budget of S7.5 million ($9 million) available for TV productions including films and documentaries. Funds up to 20% of the budget; up to S700,000 ($866,000) for telepics and S200,000 ($247,000) for docs.
Functions as a gap financer, rather than granting first monies to projects.
Cine Styria
New fund with a budget of S1.5 million ($1.8 million) to support all areas of production and distribution for film, TV and multimedia projects relevant to the region.
Funds up to 20% of the total productions costs.
Cine Tirol
Created in 1998, it distributes S1 million ($1.2 million) annually in the form of an interest-free loan, repayable subject to profits. Evaluation of monies granted to productions includes an assessment of the production’s economic impact on the region.
Upper Austrian Film Office
Regional funding of up to S1.5 million ($1.8 million), primarily for gap funding for films with an Austrian producer attached. In addition, Austria’s other provinces may allocate funds for films on an individual case basis.

Film and TV production services. Six soundstages, including a sound recording stage suitable for symphony orchestra performances. Houses 20 film service companies.
Brains & Pictures Studios
Two soundstages, helicopter landing pad. Specializes in extreme or highly technical shoots. Located 30 minutes from Vienna.
Vienna Film Academy
Newly constructed state-of-the-art studio with three soundstages, built for film students, but available for pro projects.
Art for Art
Europe’s largest costume house and workshop, specializing in historic costumes.
Tremens Film-Tonstudio
Dolby sound studio, dubbing
Synchro Film
Post-production specializing in animation, Avid, color correction, video transfer.
K-effects
Three editing rooms featuring digital post-production, 3-D animation.
LISTO Videofilm
Post-production services featuring telecine, Inferno, Fire, Avid, computer animation.
