WB buys up ‘Wall Street’

Studio gets 'Confessions' from Harper

Warner Bros. has picked up film rights to Doug Stumpf’s upcoming book “Confessions of a Wall Street Shoeshine Boy.”

The book, to be published by Harper, centers on the lives of Wall Street denizens as told through the eyes of a Brazilian whose job is buffing shoes at a major New York financial institution.

VP Kevin McCormick is overseeing the project for Warner Bros., which hasn’t yet set up the project with a producer. Studio bought the book rights through its recently established New York fund, designed to obtain projects from journalists, playwrights and other literary sources in Gotham.

Stumpf is a senior articles editor at Vanity Fair and a former book editor.
