HOLLYWOOD — New Line has decided to hire “Harvey Richards, Lawyer for Children,” acquiring feature film rights to Ruben Bolling’s alternative comic strip.
Project, envisioned as a family comedy, has been set up with Tim Peternel and David Hillary of Deviant Film, along with Ash Shah of Silver Nitrate.
The Harvey Richards character appears in Bolling’s Universal Press syndicated comic strip “Tom the Dancing Bug” as a failed attorney who’s become a “Lawyer for Children” and specializes in the world of parent-child relations and playground law.
John Glynn and Bridget McMeel of Universal Press Syndicate’s Amuse division are exec producing. New Line executives Guy Stodel and Cale Boyter are overseeing the project for the studio.
