HOLLYWOOD — Hollywood union publicists have opted mostly for high-profile studio pics in nominations for their Maxwell Weinberg Publicists Showmanship Award.

Finalists for the kudos are the publicists who worked on Fox’s “The Day After Tomorrow,” Disney/Pixar’s “The Incredibles,” Paramount’s “Mean Girls,” Warner Bros.’ “The Polar Express,” Universal’s “Ray” and Sony’s “Spider-Man 2.”

The publicists tapped Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” as last year’s winner.

Kudos will be presented at the Intl. Cinematographers Guild’s 42nd annual Publicists Awards luncheon Feb. 22 at the Beverly Hilton.

Nominees for the award in the TV category are Fox’s “Arrested Development,” CBS’ “Cold Case,” ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” King World/Harpo/Paramount TV’s “Dr. Phil” and Warner/FX’s “Nip/Tuck.”
