‘Me,’ ‘Brothers’ split fest coin

The second running of the Skip City digital festival in Japan (from July 16 through this past Sunday) split its top prizes between Miranda July’s “Me and You and Everyone We Know” and Suzanne Bier’s “Brothers.” That meant each party took away ¥5.5 million ($49,500).

Marina Caba Rall, helmer of “Last Minute,” received $18,000 as new director, while “Silver Ornaments” earned Chinese helmer Jian Zhong Huang $9,000 for best use of technology. Local director Mayumi Miyasaka was awarded a special jury prize and $9,000 for “Angel.”
