BBC releases restored ‘Carol’

BBC Video will release a restored version of the 1951 black-and-white cinematic adaptation of “A Christmas Carol,” starring Alastair Sim as Scrooge, on Sept. 27.

The collector’s edition will include more than two hours of bonus features, including two rare silent film adaptations of “A Christmas Carol” and two radio plays in a special package resembling a classic novel.
