Online finds ‘Mind’ fine

Giamatti, Winslet win acting awards

NEW YORK — Focus Features’ “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” mopped up five awards when the Online Film Critics Society voted on its eighth annual best-of list this week.

Pic logged on for film, helmer (Michel Gondry), actress (Kate Winslet), original screenplay (Charlie Kaufman) and editing.

Fox Searchlight’s “Sideways,” another awards season fave, scored honors for actor (Paul Giamatti), supporting actor (Thomas Haden Church) and adapted screenplay (Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor).

Supporting actress went to Cate Blanchett for her role in Miramax Films’ “Aviator.”

Miramax’s “Hero” took home the foreign-lingo trophy as well as the cinematography kudo.

Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” — from Lions Gate, Bob and Harvey Weinstein and IFC Films — was deemed the year’s top doc, while Disney/Pixar’s “The Incredibles” drew the animated feature honor. “Incredibles” also took score.

The year’s breakthrough filmmaker is Zach Braff (“Garden State”), according to the online org, which polls 150 members internationally.

“Maria Full of Grace” star Catalina Sandrino Moreno was deemed the year’s breakthrough performer.
