Pic museum plans revamp

Storage facility to be built to house 150,000 artifacts

The Museum of the Moving Image on Thursday officially unveiled its plans for renovation and expansion, which will begin this summer and is projected to be completed in spring 2008.

The $25 million project, designed by Leeser Architecture, will double the size of the Queens museum.

A storage facility will be built to house the museum’s 150,000 artifacts. Two movie theaters, one indoor and one outdoor, will be added; the existing theater will be renovated.
