TV Museum gala to honor Brokaw

MT&R fetes NBC Nightly News anchor

Tom Brokaw will be honored at the Museum of Television & Radio’s annual Gotham gala Feb. 19 at the Waldorf-Astoria.

Museum will recognize Brokaw’s body of work as he approaches retirement, planned for sometime after the November presidential election, as anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News.

“The museum is pleased to recognize the insight, integrity and ability of today’s most distinguished journalists and celebrate his extraordinary career at NBC,” said museum chairman Frank Bennack Jr.

Last year MT&R’s New York gala honored Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett.

The Los Angeles gala, held in November, honored Dan Rather and the “Friends” creative team of Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane.
