SuperSport jumps into the game

World Brief

Paybox SuperSport is counting on sports-mad South Africans to develop new revenue streams with a broadband service aimed at expatriates in the U.S.

SuperSport falls under the wing of satcaster Multichoice’s bouquet of services. Its broadband service, SuperSport-on-Demand, will be run by KuduClub, a network of Internet services provided by South African ISP M-Web.

Probert said because cricket and rugby were not big drawing cards in the U.S., rights to televise them were freely available there as opposed to other countries where rights had to be negotiated.
