‘Eye’ opens in 70% of U.S.

Skein set in small-claims court in Charleston, S.C.

Atlas Worldwide said it has cleared close to 70% of the U.S. for the five-a-week edition of the National Lampoon-produced courtshow satire “Eye for an Eye.”

Skein, which now runs as a once-a-week half-hour in markets like Chicago, Philadelphia and Dallas, is set in a small-claims court in Charleston, S.C., where Atlas is based.

Judge “Extreme” Akin orders mock punishment to the losing parties. For people nostalgic for the days of the O.J. Simpson trial, Kato Kaelin is expected to join the series as host.

TV stations won’t pay cash for the series, instead handing over 3½ minutes within each half-hour episode to Atlas for sale to national advertisers.

Jerry Bryant is creator and exec producer of “Eye for an Eye.”
