Eurocinema PPV inks cable deals

Contracts make service available to 4 million homes

This article was corrected on November 1, 2004.

Eurocinema, the 2-month-old pay-per-view service dedicated to foreign films, has lined up carriage deals with four more cable operators: Adelphia, Cablevision, Blue Ridge and Buckeye.

These contracts will make Eurocinema available to more than 4 million digital-cable homes.

Eurocinema offers a half-dozen packages in a video-on-demand window. Each package, at a retail price of $2.99, consists of a full-length movie and a short subject, both subtitled in English.

On Nov. 15, Eurocinema will add to its schedule three contemporary pics: Marco Risi’s “Kaputt Mundi,” starring Monica Bellucci; Roch Stephanik’s “Faux Depart” (Stand-By), with Dominique Blanc; and Martin Provost’s “Juliette’s Baby.”
