RIO DE JANEIRO — Brazil’s Donald Trump, advertising and PR guru Roberto Justus, debuted Nov. 4 in “O Aprendiz” on third-ranking net TV Record.
The first episode, which aired in the 10:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. slot, scored nine ratings points, beating the six- to seven-point average for the slot where Record usually airs Hollywood pics.
Sixteen candidates are competing for a 250,000 reals ($83,000)-per-year job in Justus’ advertising agency, NewComm. Skein is set at the Hilton Morumbi Hotel in Sao Paulo. Justus met Trump last month in Gotham to discuss the show.
Skein is part of Record’s effort to overtake SBT in the rankings. Net invested $20 million this year to reach its goal.
