New York Stage and Film held its annual gala Monday at Copacabana. Honorees included Broadway producers Elizabeth Williams and Anita Waxman, who provided the entertainment courtesy of Craig Bierko and Manu Narayan, and casting directors Sheila Jaffe and Georgianne Walken, who provided the star power of Lorraine Bracco, Edie Falco and Ethan Hawke.
Major topic of conversation was a bikini-clad, bare-chested Beach Boys medley from the Broadway-bound “Good Vibrations,” which workshopped at NYS&F last summer. “I was a little overwhelmed by all that skin,” Steve Buscemi said after a dozen bare-chested, bikini-clad chorus kids left the stage. “You’re a moral crowd.”
In her opening remarks, Penny Marshall revealed, “I slept with one of the Beach Boys. It was one of the dead ones. There weren’t that many.”
