HOLLYWOOD — Celebs walked the green carpet to fete eco-friendly thesp Daryl Hannah and musician Willie Nelson at the 14th annual Environmental Media Association Awards last week at the Ebell Theater.
Hannah was honored with for her ongoing commitment to the cause. “She makes Ed Begley Jr. look like Dick Cheney gone wild,” joked presenter Jon Lovitz.
Nelson thanked the crowd not with a speech but with a short medley performance that included “Crazy” and “Funny How Time Slips Away.”
Fellow presenter Andy Dick joked that his suit for the event was eco-friendly. “This suit is 100 percent hemp,” he said. “It might be medicinal marijuana.”
Afterward, the eco-conscious crowd sampled organic cuisine from 10 local restaurants.
