Dominic Chianese, Gary Cole, Sherilyn Fenn

Dominic Chianese (“The Sopranos”) will join “8 Simple Rules” thesp Kaley Cuoco in the ABC Family telepic “Crimes of Fashion,” which goes before cameras next week in Toronto.

“Crimes” concerns a student who takes over the family business only to discover her late grandfather was a mob boss. The film will air in July. Stu Gillard will direct from a script by David Mickel. Kevin Lafferty will produce; Sheri Singer exec produces.

Cabler has also locked Gary Cole and Sherilyn Fenn, who co-stars in Fox’s pending “Mr. Ed” skein, to star in the telefilm “Pop Rocks,” formerly “Head Rush.”

Pic, which will preem in September, revolves around a middle-aged dad whose past as the lead singer of a heavy-metal band comes back to haunt him when an old bandmate asks him to participate in a reunion concert. William Ryan and Dan Berendsen penned the teleplay.

Ron Lagomarsino (“The Brotherhood of Poland, N.H.”) will direct the family film; Patricia Clifford serves as executive producer, with Jackie George as producer.
