Swanson named Fox TV CFO

Exec to o'see coin for stations, corporate, sports nets

HOLLYWOOD — Senior veep of finance Betsy Swanson has been promoted to exec VP and chief financial officer of Fox Television Stations. News Corp. deputy chief operating officer Lachlan Murdoch made the announcement Wednesday.

Murdoch commented that Swanson’s “work and diligence overseeing the financial areas for the stations have resulted in strong operating efficiencies and quality financial reporting.”

Swanson will continue to oversee all financial areas involving the stations, corporate home office and Fox O&Os’ regional sports networks.

Swanson began her career at Fox in 1988 as director of financial planning and reporting for Fox Television Stations. In 1990, she was tapped as station manager of KSTU, the company’s O&O in Salt Lake City. She was promoted to veepee of finance in 1992, then to senior veep of finance in 2000.
