WB has picked up the script “Wing Men” from Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment.
Sony is expected to come on board to produce the project. Laffer comes from scribe Mike Soccio (“The King of Queens”), who is set up at the studio.
Male buddy comedy is one of several Overbrook has in the works at the nets.
Smith, wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and Overbrook partner James Lassiter exec produce UPN laffer “All of Us” along with showrunner Betsy Borns.
Soccio’s credits also include “All of Us” and Smith’s breakout series, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
On the feature side, Overbrook’s upcoming releases include “Saving Face” and “Hitch.” company also was behind the films “I, Robot,” “Showtime” and “Ali.”
