NEW YORK — Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution has tapped Gus Lucas exec VP.
Having served as senior VP of WBDCD since 2000, Lucas has helped negotiate the off-net sales of numerous series including “The West Wing” to Bravo, “Third Watch” to A&E, “Gilmore Girls” and “Smallville” to ABC Family, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to Oxygen, “Murphy Brown” to Nick at Nite and “Mad TV” to Comedy Central.
Exec also has been involved in deals with HDNet and TV One plus Hispanic broadcast nets Telefutura and Telemundo.
Lucas, who reports to WBDCD topper Eric Frankel, will continue to oversee the sales and marketing efforts of the unit.
Previously, Lucas spent three years as programming head of the Family Channel and before that served as exec VP of Viacom Entertainment Group/president of West Coast operations and Viacom Prods.
